Why this stone is listed on its own
Each stone in this collection is listed on its own because no two are identical — colour, surface and polish differ from piece to piece, so the one in the photograph is the one that ships.
What decides the price
Clarity, size, cut and any special inclusions such as golden rutile needles Current market rates for every stone we carry are in our gemstone price guide, and the rest of this collection is at Quartz (Billaur).
Checking the stone before you pay
Hold it against a white background in daylight to judge colour honestly, look through a 10x loupe for growth features and small natural inclusions (glass shows round bubbles and swirl lines instead), and ask for the weight on a scale in front of you. For anything expensive, a report from an independent gemmological laboratory is the only way to be certain of the species and any treatment.
Who wears it
Venus and the Moon in popular tradition. It is traditionally worn on a pendant, ring, bracelet or tasbeeh These are traditions rather than tested effects; what we stand behind is the stone itself.
Care
Durable and easy to clean with warm soapy water.
