Faisalabad runs on textiles, trade and careful accounts, and its buyers usually want one thing from a gemstone seller: figures that add up. Traditionally, neelam, pukhraj and yaqoot are popular across the city's business families, for astrological reasons and as a mark of standing. GemStore delivers natural stones to every part of Faisalabad by insured courier with Cash on Delivery, and every listing is priced so you can check the maths yourself.
How to read a gemstone price
Each listing in the GemStore shop is one individual stone, photographed as it is and priced on its own. To compare it with any other offer, use the per-carat rate:
Per-carat rate = price ÷ carat weight.
That single number lets you compare a 3-carat stone with a 5-carat one, or our listing with a jeweller's quote. A few points to keep in mind:
- Per-carat rates rise with size. A clean 5-carat neelam usually costs more per carat than a 2-carat stone of the same quality, because large clean crystals are rarer.
- Quality moves the rate more than weight. Colour, clarity and cut can change the per-carat figure many times over within the same species.
- A quote without a weight cannot be compared. "Per piece" or "per ratti" pricing without an exact carat weight leaves you guessing.
Stones Faisalabad buyers often choose
- Neelam (blue sapphire): Saturn's stone in Vedic astrology, traditionally worn by people in business for discipline and focus.
- Pukhraj (yellow sapphire): Jupiter's stone, a customary choice for prosperity and marriage.
- Yaqoot (ruby): the Sun stone, a classic men's ring traditionally associated with authority.
- Zamurd (emerald): linked with Mercury, and traditionally with traders.
- Aqeeq, dur-e-najaf, feroza and opal for daily wear and gifts.
All of these associations are beliefs and traditions; no stone can guarantee a business result. Our gemstones by rashi guide explains the traditional pairings, and the gemstone names page maps Urdu names to English.
A ring that survives a working day
If a ring will be worn on the mill floor, in the warehouse or around machinery, the setting matters as much as the stone. A bezel or half-bezel, where metal wraps around the edge of the stone, protects it far better than tall claws. Hardness matters too: sapphire and ruby (9 on the Mohs scale) cope with daily knocks much better than emerald or opal. Astrological custom often prefers an open back so the stone touches the skin, and that can be combined with a protective bezel. If you would like a custom silver ring setting, we can discuss it with you on WhatsApp.
Comparing with what is on offer locally
Faisalabad has fewer specialist gem dealers than Lahore or Peshawar, and many stones are sold through gold jewellers whose main trade is metal. That isn't a criticism, but it does mean lab reports and written treatment details are less common. Before paying anyone:
- Look at the stone in daylight, away from shop spotlights.
- Ask in writing whether it is natural and whether it is treated. Heating is normal for sapphire and ruby; it should simply be stated.
- Get the exact carat weight and work out the per-carat rate.
- For a valuable stone, ask for an independent laboratory report.
Our real vs fake gemstones guide covers the home checks. At GemStore we inspect every stone, disclose known treatments, and provide a certificate of authenticity on request; independent lab testing can be arranged if you ask. See the authenticity page.
