Natural gemstones for Dera Ghazi Khan and the towns west of the Indus, delivered with Cash on Delivery.

Dera Ghazi Khan lies on the west bank of the Indus, opposite Muzaffargarh, with the Sulaiman range rising to the west. The district is a meeting point of Saraiki and Baloch culture, and its tribal and shrine traditions are strong. Fort Munro, the hill station in the Sulaimans, is a summer escape for families from the hot plains, while Taunsa Sharif and the shrine of Sakhi Sarwar draw visitors from across the region. GemStore is an online store based in Lahore. We have no shop in D.G. Khan, but we deliver natural stones there by insured courier, and you inspect before paying.

Stones D.G. Khan buyers ask for, and why

Ring stones here are worn mostly for devotion, protection and family custom, and men's rings are often large and set in silver:

  • Aqeeq: the first ring stone for many men, linked with Muslim tradition. See aqeeq for men.
  • Feroza: traditionally worn for protection, and often given by elders to younger family members.
  • Sulemani aqeeq: banded black and white agate, valued by many families as a protective stone.
  • Yaqoot and neelam: chosen on astrological advice, traditionally linked with the Sun and Saturn.
  • Moh-e-Najaf and dur-e-Najaf: devotional stones for those who follow the Najaf tradition.

Protective and planetary meanings are traditions and beliefs. We cannot promise any effect, and for religious questions please ask a scholar you trust.

How to check a stone in D.G. Khan

Stone stalls near shrines and in the city bazaar carry large trays of ring stones, many at prices that look too good. They usually are. Before paying anyone:

  1. Hold the stone up to daylight. Glass imitations of aqeeq often look perfectly even. Natural agate shows faint banding or slight variation.
  2. Look for round bubbles. A magnifying glass will often show them in glass dur-e-Najaf and fake moh-e-Najaf. Our moh-e-Najaf guide shows the needles to look for.
  3. Check feroza for dye. Colour that rubs off on a damp cloth, or a blue that is too uniform, is a warning.
  4. Agree the weight unit. The gemstone ratti is 0.91 carat; the jeweller's sunari ratti is about 0.61 carat. The carat to ratti converter helps you compare.

Each GemStore listing is one stone, photographed and priced on its own. If you want advice, send your budget on WhatsApp. Many first-time buyers start with stones under 5,000 rupees.

Certificates and returns

All our stones are natural, and known treatments are disclosed. A certificate is available on request, and independent lab testing can be arranged; see the authenticity page. If a stone does not suit you, return it unused within 7 days of delivery under the return policy.

Choosing a stone for a large silver ring

Men in D.G. Khan often prefer a bold oval or cushion stone in a heavy silver ring. Choose a stone with even colour across its face, because larger stones show colour zoning and cracks more clearly. A cabochon (a smooth dome) suits aqeeq, feroza and sulemani; faceted cuts suit yaqoot and neelam. Our silver ring with stone guide explains sizes and settings, and our setting service can help.
