What the lab checks on Lehsunia
- Identification: chrysoberyl cat's eye versus quartz cat's eye, tourmaline, apatite and fibre-optic glass, which show a similar eye.
- Irradiation: some chrysoberyl is irradiated to darken the body colour and sharpen the eye.
- Glass imitations: fibre-optic glass shows a honeycomb pattern from the side under magnification.
- Weight and measurements: recorded so the report matches the stone.
