What the lab checks on garnet
- Species: almandine, pyrope, spessartine, grossular (including hessonite) or demantoid, identified by refractive index, density and spectrum.
- Doublets: garnet-topped glass, a classic imitation, shows a join and a red ring when the stone is placed table-down.
- Look-alikes: ruby, red spinel and glass.
- Treatment: garnet is very rarely treated, which the report usually confirms.
How to request a report
Pick any stone from our garnet collection and send its link on WhatsApp +92 308 887 3888. We explain the testing steps for that stone, and you see the report before you pay. The same applies to hessonite (Gomed), ruby and red agate. Read more on lab-certified gemstones.
