Blue sapphire rings, set to order
Neelam Ring Price in Pakistan: Stone, Silver and Setting نیلم کی انگوٹھی کی قیمت
In short: The price of a Neelam ring is mostly the price of the blue sapphire, with the silver ring adding a smaller, more predictable amount. Colour leads, followed by clarity, size, origin and treatment. Unheated stones cost more, while diffusion-treated and glass-filled stones should be much cheaper. GemStore states known treatments on every listing and offers a certificate on request.

What decides the price of a Neelam ring
1. The sapphire
Colour leads. A clear, medium to deep blue with no grey or green cast commands the highest prices; very dark, inky stones and pale, washed-out ones cost less. Clarity comes next: eye-clean stones are worth more than stones with visible cracks or cloudy patches, though fine silk is normal. Size raises the price faster than weight alone, because large clean sapphires are rarer. Origin names such as Ceylon (Sri Lanka), Kashmir or African sources also change asking prices.
Treatment matters a great deal. Most blue sapphire on the market is heated to improve colour and clarity, a stable and widely accepted process. Unheated stones cost more. Diffusion-treated and glass-filled stones should be much cheaper and are sometimes sold as natural without disclosure. We state known treatments on every listing, a certificate is available on request, and independent lab testing can be arranged. See our lab-certified Neelam page.

Per ratti pricing
Neelam is commonly sold per ratti in Pakistan. The standard gem ratti is 0.91 carat (about 0.182 g); the jeweller's sunari ratti is smaller, about 0.61 carat. A per-ratti quote means nothing until you know which ratti, so ask, then check with our carat to ratti converter. Compare quotes for stones of similar colour, clarity, treatment and size, rather than weight alone.
2. Silver weight
We use 925 sterling silver, sold by weight at market rates. A heavier men's band costs more than a slim ring.
3. Design
Sapphire is hard (9 on the Mohs scale) and holds well in claws as well as a bezel. A simple four-claw or bezel setting costs less than a patterned or halo-style design.
4. Handmade or cast
Cast rings are made from moulds and are quicker. A handmade setting is formed around your stone and suits deep or unusually shaped sapphires.
How Neelam is traditionally worn
In Vedic astrology Neelam is the stone of Saturn (Shani), and it carries more caution than most stones. Traditionally it is worn on the middle finger, often of the right hand, in silver, white gold or panchdhatu, and put on for the first time on a Saturday. Many families follow a trial period, wearing the stone for a few days before committing to it, and many astrologers prefer an open-back setting so the stone touches the skin. These are traditions, not guarantees; read more in Neelam benefits and how to wear sapphire. Women can read our guide to the Neelam ring for women.
If Neelam is beyond your budget
Blue stones are sold under many names, so buy a blue stone under its true name rather than a doubtful cheap Neelam. Purple sapphire (Jamuni Neelam) is a sapphire in its own right; tanzanite, blue topaz, iolite and lapis offer blue at lower prices, though in Vedic tradition they are not treated as substitutes for Neelam. Ask the person you consult before swapping.
Ring size
Measure the middle finger if you are following tradition, since it is usually larger than the ring finger. Use our ring size guide, and if you are between sizes pick the larger.
How ordering works
- Pick a stone. Choose from our blue sapphire listings; each stone has its own photo, weight and price. If you want help, send your budget and preferred weight on WhatsApp.
- Send your size. Message the stone link and your ring size, and tell us which finger the ring is for.
- We confirm on WhatsApp. We send the design, the full price for stone and ring, and the time needed. Nothing is made until you agree.
- We set and dispatch. The ring travels by insured tracked courier and takes about 7 working days to reach you.
- Pay on delivery. Open the parcel, inspect the ring, then pay the rider in cash.
Care
Sapphire is the hardest stone most people will own after diamond, but it can still chip if struck hard on an edge. Clean the ring with lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, then dry it. Keep it apart from other jewellery, since a sapphire will scratch softer stones. Check the claws every few months. Our Neelam buying guide covers choosing the stone in more depth.
