Buyers often ask about this stone because of its price, so we will start there. It is a natural white topaz of 5.8 carats, and it is listed with reference GS-WH-0002.

Why is the per-carat rate lower than the rest?

At Rs. 2,630 the rate comes to about Rs. 453 per carat, roughly half of what most white topaz here costs. Each stone is priced individually, so rates move from piece to piece. Message us and we will tell you what we know about this one.

Is it suitable for a ring?

Yes. Topaz measures 8 on the Mohs scale, tougher than quartz, and 5.8 carats is a compact weight for a slim band. Avoid sharp blows on the edges, because topaz can cleave.

Has it been treated?

Colourless topaz is normally left as it is found, apart from cutting and polishing. We are happy to share what we know about this exact stone, and independent lab testing is available on request.

On the Mohs scale white topaz rates 8. Few materials will scratch it, so it copes well with everyday ring wear. A soak in warm water with a drop of mild soap and a soft brush keeps it bright; skip the ultrasonic cleaner if inclusions reach the surface.
