Ruby rings, set to order
Yaqoot Ring Price in Pakistan: Ruby, Silver and Setting یاقوت کی انگوٹھی کی قیمت
In short: A Yaqoot ring's price depends first on the ruby and then on the silver setting. With ruby, colour is everything: a strong, pure red to slightly purplish red is the most valued. Clarity, size, origin and treatment follow. Lead-glass-filled ruby is far less valuable yet often sold as natural, so always check treatment disclosure before buying.
Yaqoot (ruby) is one of the most asked-for ring stones in Pakistan, and also one of the most faked. The ring price depends first on the ruby and then on the silver setting. GemStore sells natural rubies as loose stones, each photographed and priced on its own, and sets your choice in a 925 silver ring made to size, confirmed on WhatsApp.

What decides the price of a Yaqoot ring
1. The ruby
Colour is everything with ruby. A strong, pure red to slightly purplish red, sometimes called pigeon blood in the trade, is the most valued. Pinkish, brownish or very dark stones cost less. Clarity follows: rubies almost always show some inclusions, and fine silk can soften the colour attractively, but large cracks and cloudy patches lower the value. Size raises price steeply, since clean rubies above a couple of carats are scarce. Origin matters too; Pakistan's own Hunza rubies are known for their colour, while Madagascar and African sources supply much of the market.
Treatment is where many buyers lose money. Heating is common and accepted. Lead-glass-filled ruby, where fractures are filled with glass to improve the look, is far less valuable and less durable, yet it is often sold as natural Yaqoot without disclosure. We disclose known treatments on every listing. Read how to identify original ruby before buying anywhere.
Here are our current loose ruby prices, built from our own listings and refreshed monthly.

Comparing per-ratti quotes
Ruby is often priced per ratti in Pakistan. The standard gem ratti is 0.91 carat, while the sunari ratti used by jewellers is about 0.61 carat, so a "per ratti" price can differ by a third depending on which one is meant. Convert both quotes to carats with our carat to ratti converter, and compare only stones with a similar colour and the same treatment.
2. Silver weight
Our rings are 925 sterling silver, priced by weight at market rates. A thicker shank costs more and lasts longer.
3. Design
Ruby is 9 on the Mohs scale, so claws are safe for a cut stone, and many people like how open claws let in light. A bezel suits men's rings and cabochons. Ornate patterns add work.
4. Handmade or cast
Cast rings come from standard moulds. Handmade settings are built to the stone, useful for deep or unusual cuts.
How Yaqoot is traditionally worn
In Vedic astrology ruby (Manik) is the stone of the Sun. Traditionally it is worn on the ring finger, often of the right hand, set in gold or copper, and first put on on a Sunday morning. We set in 925 silver; if you want gold, you can buy the loose stone and have your own jeweller set it. In Persian and Muslim tradition Yaqoot is also held in high regard. These are beliefs, not promises, and for religious questions ask a scholar you trust. See how to wear ruby and the Leo stones page.
Ruby or a cheaper red stone?
If a fine ruby is beyond your budget, be wary of a cheap "Yaqoot" rather than settling for one. Honest alternatives exist: garnet gives a deep red at a fraction of the price, and red agate or red coral suit people who want red in a men's ring. Each is sold under its own name. Browse by budget, from under 5,000 rupees upwards, and compare with the monthly price guide.
Ring size
Measure the ring finger of the hand you plan to use, ideally in the evening. Our ring size guide converts Pakistani, US and UK sizes.
How ordering works
- Pick a stone. Choose from our ruby listings; each stone has its own photo, weight and price. If you want help, send your budget and preferred weight on WhatsApp.
- Send your size. Message the stone link and your ring size, and tell us which finger the ring is for.
- We confirm on WhatsApp. We send the design, the full price for stone and ring, and the time needed. Nothing is made until you agree.
- We set and dispatch. The ring travels by insured tracked courier and takes about 7 working days to reach you.
- Pay on delivery. Open the parcel, inspect the ring, then pay the rider in cash.
Care
Ruby is tough, but glass-filled stones are not, which is one more reason to buy a disclosed stone. Clean a natural ruby ring with warm soapy water and a soft brush, dry it, and keep it apart from softer jewellery. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, and have the claws checked every few months. Our reading a ruby guide explains grading in more depth.
