Pukhraj Ring Price in Pakistan: Yellow Sapphire in Silver پکھراج کی انگوٹھی کی قیمت
In short: A Pukhraj ring's price is mostly the yellow sapphire, with the silver ring adding a smaller share. Buyers want a clean, bright canary to golden yellow, and pale lemon stones cost less. Clarity matters, size raises the price faster than weight alone, and unheated stones cost more. Beware citrine, yellow topaz and glass sold as Pukhraj.

What decides the price of a Pukhraj ring
1. The yellow sapphire
Buyers want a clean, bright, canary to golden yellow. Pale lemon stones cost less; strong, even colour with no brown tint costs more. Clarity matters more in yellow sapphire than in ruby, because the light colour shows inclusions clearly, so eye-clean stones are valued highly. Size raises the price faster than weight alone. Sri Lankan (Ceylon) Pukhraj has a strong reputation, though good stones also come from other sources.
Most yellow sapphire is heated to improve colour, which is accepted when disclosed. Unheated stones cost more. Beryllium-diffused stones, where colour is pushed in with heat, should be much cheaper. The bigger risk in Pakistan is substitution: citrine, yellow topaz and glass are all sold as Pukhraj. Read yellow sapphire vs citrine and how to identify original Pukhraj. We sell natural stones only, with known treatments disclosed.
The table below shows our current loose Pukhraj prices, built from our own listings and refreshed monthly.
| Weight | Weights | Stones | Per carat | Per ratti |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Under 3 carat | 1.1 – 3.0 ct | 21 | Rs 4,500 – Rs 19,000 | Rs 4,100 – Rs 17,500 |
| 3 – 6 carat | 3.2 – 5.4 ct | 16 | Rs 2,900 – Rs 7,500 | Rs 2,600 – Rs 6,800 |
Per ratti in Pakistan
Pukhraj is usually quoted per ratti. The gem ratti is 0.91 carat; the jeweller's sunari ratti is about 0.61 carat. Ask which one a seller means and convert with our carat to ratti converter before comparing. A cheap per-ratti quote often turns out to be a smaller ratti, a heavily treated stone or a different gem entirely.
2. Silver weight
Our rings are 925 sterling silver, priced by weight at the market rate. A heavier band costs more but wears better over years.
3. Design
Yellow sapphire is 9 on the Mohs scale and sits safely in claws or a bezel. Claws let more light into a pale stone; a bezel gives a cleaner men's look. Decorative sides add labour.
4. Handmade or cast
A cast ring comes from a standard mould. A handmade ring is shaped around your stone and suits deep or unusually cut sapphires.
How Pukhraj is traditionally worn
In Vedic astrology yellow sapphire is the stone of Jupiter (Guru or Brihaspati). Traditionally it is worn on the index finger, often of the right hand, set in gold, and put on for the first time on a Thursday morning. We set in 925 silver, which many people choose; for gold, buy the loose stone and have your own jeweller set it. Many families also prefer an open-back setting so the stone touches the skin. These are traditions, not guarantees. Read Pukhraj benefits, how to wear yellow sapphire and the Sagittarius and Pisces pages.
How to compare two Pukhraj quotes
- Confirm both stones are yellow sapphire, not citrine or topaz.
- Ask whether each is heated, unheated or diffused.
- Convert both weights to carats, using the same ratti.
- Look at both stones in daylight, side by side if you can, for colour and visible inclusions.
- Ask whether a certificate is available and who issued it.
A stone that wins on every point except price usually has a reason for its low price.
Ring size
The index finger is usually a different size from the ring finger, so measure the finger you will actually use. Our ring size guide explains how.
How ordering works
- Pick a stone. Choose from our yellow sapphire listings; each stone has its own photo, weight and price. If you want help, send your budget and preferred weight on WhatsApp.
- Send your size. Message the stone link and your ring size, and tell us which finger the ring is for.
- We confirm on WhatsApp. We send the design, the full price for stone and ring, and the time needed. Nothing is made until you agree.
- We set and dispatch. The ring travels by insured tracked courier and takes about 7 working days to reach you.
- Pay on delivery. Open the parcel, inspect the ring, then pay the rider in cash.
Care
Clean the ring with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft brush, then dry it. Yellow sapphire picks up skin oil, which dulls its glow, so a quick clean every week or two keeps it bright. Store it apart from softer stones, and check the claws now and then.
