Chandi Ring with Stone: Natural Gemstones Set in 925 Silver چاندی کی انگوٹھی پتھر کے ساتھ
In short: A chandi ring with stone should be made in 925 sterling silver, which is 92.5 per cent silver alloyed with a little copper for strength. In bazaars, chandi can also mean lower grades or plated brass that tarnish faster. Silver flatters blue, white, green and purple stones. GemStore sets your chosen natural stone in a 925 ring made to size.
Chandi (silver) is the metal most Pakistanis choose for a stone ring. It is affordable, it suits blue, white and green stones, and many men prefer it for religious reasons. GemStore sets the natural loose stone you choose in a 925 silver ring made to your size, confirmed on WhatsApp and paid for in cash on delivery.

Why 925 silver, and what "chandi" can mean in the bazaar
Pure silver is too soft to hold a stone securely, so jewellery silver is alloyed with a little copper. The standard is 925 sterling silver: 92.5 per cent silver and 7.5 per cent other metal. In bazaars the word chandi covers many grades, and some rings sold as silver are much lower in purity or are plated brass. Lower-grade metal tarnishes faster, can leave a green mark on the skin and bends more easily. Ask for the purity in writing whenever you buy a silver ring. Our rings are made in 925 silver.
Stones that suit silver
The cool white of silver flatters blue, white, green and purple stones especially well.
- Feroza and Neelam: silver brings out the blue. See Feroza ring for men and Neelam ring price.
- Aqeeq: the classic silver ring stone in Pakistan, in red, black, white and Sulemani shades. See aqeeq ring price.
- Dur-e-Najaf and Moh-e-Najaf: clear and needle-filled quartz, traditionally set in silver.
- Moti (pearl) and moonstone: in Vedic tradition both are linked with the Moon, and silver is the metal traditionally paired with them.
- Amethyst, aquamarine and peridot: purple, pale blue and green stones that look crisp against silver.
Warm stones such as Yaqoot and Pukhraj are traditionally set in gold, but many people wear them in silver too. Our post on silver vs gold ring settings compares the two metals.
What sets the price of a chandi ring with stone
The stone
The stone is normally the largest part of the price, and it ranges widely, from an everyday agate to a fine sapphire. Browse by budget: under 5,000 rupees, 5,000 to 20,000, 20,000 to 50,000 and over 50,000. The monthly price guide shows current ranges by stone.
Silver weight
Silver is sold by weight, by the gram or the tola, and its price follows the market. A heavy men's band uses noticeably more metal than a slim ladies' ring, so two rings with the same stone can cost quite differently.
Design
A plain bezel with a smooth band is the simplest. Claws, patterned sides, a double band or a raised crown add labour.
Handmade or cast
Cast rings come from moulds: quick, uniform and usually cheaper. Handmade rings are built by a karigar around your stone and suit large, deep or unusual shapes better.
Men's and women's silver rings
Men in Pakistan usually prefer a broad band with a single oval or cushion stone in a bezel, often with a flat or gently domed top. Women more often choose a slimmer band, claws that show more of the stone, or a small stone for daily wear beside other rings. Both are made in the same 925 silver; only the weight and design change. Tell us who the ring is for and we will suggest a style that suits the stone, or send a photo of a ring you already like.
Size first
Send the size of the exact finger you will wear the ring on. Use our ring size guide or measure at home with these simple steps. Silver rings can usually be adjusted a little, but a ring made to the right size from the start sits better.

Keeping a silver ring bright
Silver tarnishes when it meets air, sweat, perfume and sulphur in rubber or some foods. Wearing it often actually helps, because skin contact and handling keep it polished. Wipe it with a soft silver cloth, avoid dipping it in chemical silver cleaners if the stone is soft or porous, and store it in a small zip bag when you are not wearing it. Remove the ring before swimming in chlorinated water. Care for the stone depends on its type; see our gemstone care guide.
