Men's rings, set to order

Gemstone Ring for Men: Choosing the Stone and the Setting مردوں کے لیے پتھر کی انگوٹھی

In short: For a men's ring worn every day in Pakistan, start with a hard stone. Sapphire and ruby sit at 9 on the Mohs scale, topaz at 8, and aqeeq, quartz and Dur-e-Najaf around 7. Aqeeq is the most common men's stone. Softer feroza, opal and lapis can still be worn, but need a full bezel and care.

Most men in Pakistan wear one ring and wear it every day, so the stone has to suit both the man and his routine. GemStore sells natural loose stones, each photographed and priced on its own, and sets the one you choose in a 925 silver ring made to your size. This page helps you choose the stone, understand the price and place the order on WhatsApp.

Stones men in Pakistan most often choose

  • Aqeeq (agate). The most common men's stone in Pakistan, in red, black, Sulemani and other shades. Hard enough for daily wear and modestly priced. See our aqeeq ring page.
  • Feroza (turquoise). Sky blue and traditional, but soft, so it needs a protective bezel. See Feroza ring for men.
  • Neelam (blue sapphire). Very hard and long-lasting, chosen for colour and for its place in Vedic astrology. See Neelam ring price.
  • Yaqoot (ruby) and Pukhraj (yellow sapphire). Equally hard, and the classic stones for the Sun and Jupiter in Vedic tradition. See Yaqoot ring price and Pukhraj ring price.
  • Lehsunia (cat's eye), tiger eye and black agate. Bold, masculine looks at a range of budgets.
  • Dur-e-Najaf. Clear quartz worn by many men for its religious associations. See Dur-e-Najaf.

Pick a stone that survives daily wear

A men's ring takes knocks from car doors, desks, tools and gym bars. Hardness on the Mohs scale is a fair first guide. Sapphire and ruby sit at 9 and shrug off most wear. Topaz is 8, and agate, quartz and Dur-e-Najaf are around 7. Feroza, opal and lapis sit nearer 5 or 6 and scratch more easily, and pearl and coral are softer still. Softer stones can still be worn, but a full bezel and a little care make a big difference. If you work with your hands, start with a hard stone.

What sets the price of a men's ring

Ask any seller to split the price into its parts. You will see the same four every time.

The stone

Species matters most: a fine Neelam and a good aqeeq of the same size can be worlds apart. Within one species, colour, clarity, size, cut, origin and treatment decide value. Our monthly price guide shows current ranges from our own listings, and you can browse by budget: under 5,000 rupees, 5,000 to 20,000, 20,000 to 50,000 or over 50,000.

Silver weight

Men's rings use more metal. A wide, heavy shank looks substantial but adds to the cost, because 925 silver is priced by weight and moves with the market.

Design

A plain bezel band is the simplest. Carved shoulders, a stepped crown, or a pattern around the stone add hours of work.

Handmade or cast

Cast rings are made from moulds and suit standard shapes. Handmade rings are formed around your stone by a karigar, which helps with large or irregular stones and gives a tighter fit.

Finger, hand and metal, as tradition has it

In Vedic astrology each finger is linked to a planet: the index finger with Jupiter (Pukhraj), the middle finger with Saturn (Neelam), the ring finger with the Sun (Yaqoot) and the little finger with Mercury (Zamurd). Our planetary stones page explains the full set. In Muslim tradition many men wear a ring on the right hand, on the ring finger or little finger, and choose silver because many scholars advise men against gold. These are traditions, and for religious questions you should ask a scholar you trust.

Size and proportion

Men usually look best with a stone in proportion to the hand: broad hands carry a larger oval, slim fingers a smaller one. Measure with our ring size guide, and remember a wide band feels tighter than a narrow one of the same size.

Common questions

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly — we answer on WhatsApp during working hours.

Which gemstone is best for a men's ring?

For daily wear, hard stones such as sapphire, ruby and agate last best. Aqeeq is the most popular choice in Pakistan and suits most budgets.

Which finger should a man wear a gemstone ring on?

It depends on the tradition: Vedic astrology links each finger to a planet, while in Muslim tradition many men wear a ring on the right hand's ring or little finger. Ask a scholar you trust for religious guidance.

Do you make men's rings in gold?

We set stones in 925 silver. For gold, buy the loose stone and have your own jeweller set it.

How big should the stone be?

Choose a size in proportion to your hand; broad hands carry a larger oval well. Send us a photo of your hand on WhatsApp and we can suggest a size.

How much does a men's gemstone ring cost?

The price is the stone plus the silver, design and labour. We confirm the full figure on WhatsApp before making anything.

Can I return a finished ring?

Loose stones carry our 7-day return policy. We explain how it applies to a set ring on WhatsApp before you confirm the order.

Want a closer look before you order?

Ask for extra photos, a video in daylight or the exact measurements of any stone — we reply on WhatsApp during working hours.
