Gemstone Gifts for Nikah and Weddings in Pakistan نکاح اور شادی کے تحائف
In short: For a Pakistani bride, Yaqoot (ruby), garnet, zamurd (emerald) and moti (pearl) are natural gemstone gifts, and loose stones are safest so her family can set them to match. For the groom, a silver ring with aqeeq, feroza or Dur-e-Najaf is a common choice. A gemstone tasbih is a respectful gift for parents and elders.
A Pakistani wedding runs over several events, from the mangni and mehndi to the nikah, baraat and walima, and each brings gifts for the bride, the groom and the families. A natural gemstone is a gift that outlasts the outfits and the photographs. Here is how to choose one, and how to time your order around the dates.

Traditional belief vs gemmology: anything on this page about luck, protection, planets, healing or religious tradition describes traditional and cultural beliefs — not proven effects, religious rulings or medical advice. A stone's identity, hardness, treatment and origin are gemmology, which a lab can test; the references at the end of the page cover that side.
Gifts for the bride
Red is the colour of a Pakistani bride, so Yaqoot (ruby) and garnet are natural choices, and they sit well beside red and gold bridal jewellery. Zamurd (emerald) is the other bridal favourite, worn with green at the mehndi and treasured afterwards. Moti (pearl) has long been a wedding gift in South Asia and suits walima outfits in pale colours. If you know her birth month, her birthstone adds a personal touch; see our birthstones page.
Loose stones are the safest gift for a bride, because she or her family can set them to match the bridal set. A finished ring suits a close relative who knows her size.
Gifts for the groom
The groom's ring is a central gift in many families, often given at the mangni or nikah. In Muslim tradition many men wear rings in silver rather than gold, following the advice of many scholars, so a silver ring with aqeeq, Feroza or Dur-e-Najaf is a common choice. For religious detail, ask a scholar you trust. Grooms who follow Vedic tradition may prefer Neelam, Yaqoot or Pukhraj. See aqeeq rings, Feroza rings and gemstone rings for men.
Gifts for the couple
A matching pair of stones works well: two aqeeq of the same colour, or his and her birthstones. Some families give stones linked in tradition with love and harmony, such as rose-coloured stones, moonstone or emerald; our love and harmony page explains these beliefs. They are traditions, not promises.
Gifts for parents and elders
A gemstone tasbih is a respectful gift for the parents of the bride or groom and for grandparents. Aqeeq, Dur-e-Najaf, amethyst and pearl tasbihs are favourites.
Gifts by budget
- Modest: aqeeq, moonstone, amethyst, peridot or a small garnet. Good for cousins, friends and the wedding party.
- Mid-range: a better emerald, a Feroza or aqeeq silver ring for the groom, or a gemstone tasbih for the parents.
- Special: a fine ruby, emerald or Neelam for the bride, with a certificate.
The monthly price guide shows current ranges from our own listings, so you can set a realistic figure before you browse.
Smaller gifts for the mehndi and the wedding party
For cousins and friends in the wedding party, small natural stones make a lasting keepsake at a modest cost. Agates, amethyst, moonstone and peridot all come in at low prices. Browse under 5,000 rupees, 5,000 to 20,000, 20,000 to 50,000 or over 50,000.
Getting the ring size
A ring for the bride or groom must fit on the day. If the gift is a surprise, borrow a ring they already wear on the same finger and measure it with our ring size guide. If you cannot, give a loose stone and offer to have it set later through our stone setting service.
When to order
Wedding dates do not move, so order early. Loose stones are dispatched in 1 to 2 working days and take about 7 working days to arrive. For a loose stone, order at least two weeks before the first event so there is time to inspect it and, if needed, use our 7-day return. A ring needs extra making time, which we confirm on WhatsApp, so order it a few weeks ahead. The wedding season keeps couriers busy across Pakistan, so build in spare days.
Gifts for the anniversary
A stone given at the nikah often sets a pattern. Some couples add a stone on each anniversary, or set the nikah stone in a ring on the first one. Others mark the anniversary with the wife's or husband's birthstone. Whatever you choose, keep the receipt and any certificate with the stone so its details are never lost.
Buying with confidence
Every stone we sell is natural, photographed and priced on its own, with known treatments disclosed. A certificate is available on request, and independent lab testing can be arranged, which is worth doing for an expensive bridal stone. Cash on Delivery lets you open the parcel and inspect before paying the rider. Our birthstone gifts for Eid and weddings post has more ideas.
